THE STORY OF MY SICK GRANDMOTHER (NO, REALLY!)
Some time in 2006 my grandmother was interred into a Hospice after having been treated for cancer for the second time in her life. The last time I saw her she asked me a final wish, a pendant of a guardian angel for my mother for her fiftieth birthday.
At that time I was, to be honest, a bit baffled as to why she would make this request. I was studying Graphic Design and Illustration and working three dimensional hadn’t really crossed my mind but in the years to come that certainly was to become the trajectory of my journey.
It is said that closer to the edge you see things more clearly and perhaps she saw some things in a clearer light.
My mother never got the angel for her fiftieth birthday. However, late 2015, on my own birthday the doctors handed my mother, her own struggle and the time to craft that guardian angel was at hand.
